"Hey there! Today, I want to share with you some of my favorite books that have truly captured the spirit of Africa. These books were recommended to me by a dear family friend from Swaziland when I first decided to explore this diverse continent. The first book I read was ‘The Elephant Whisperer’ by Lawrence Anthony. This book beautifully captures the unique bond between Lawrence and a wild elephant herd, truly encapsulating the magic of Africa.
There’s no shortage of inspiring stories from this continent, and I’ve been lucky enough to read many during my travels. Here are my top 10 picks:

‘Disgrace’ by J. M. Coetzee: This Nobel Prize-winning novel is a dark and disturbing tale of a university professor who loses his job due to an affair. The story takes a turn when he moves to his daughter’s farm and faces the harsh realities of life after a brutal attack. It’s a heavy read, but it paints a vivid picture of post-apartheid South Africa.

‘Out of Africa’ by Karen Blixen: I was initially skeptical about a foreigner writing about Africa, but this book changed my mind. Blixen’s poetic language and deep love for Africa and its people will make you fall in love too.
