I won’t beat around the bush: I’m pretty proud of my travel blog. But I’m not the only one out there who knows a thing or two about globetrotting. There are a ton of fantastic travel bloggers who have expertise in areas I don’t. Family trips? Not my forte. Female travel? I’m clueless. Hotel info? I know a bit. Photography? I can turn on a camera, if that counts. Food? I’m an expert at eating it.
It’s been a while since I’ve shared some of my favorite travel blogs with you. These are the blogs I turn to for tips on how to travel smarter, cheaper, and better. There are so many great ones out there, and I think it’s high time I pointed you in their direction.
First up, we have Legal Nomads. Jodi, the blogger behind it, is one of my favorite people in the world. She’s an incredible blogger who often writes about food and culture. She spends a lot of time focusing on food during her travels, and her photos are so good they make me green with envy. She used to be a lawyer, and now she writes a series called "Thrillable Hours" about other lawyers who’ve ditched the corporate world to travel.
Next, there’s Uncornered Market. If there was a contest for the best travel blog, I’d tell everyone to vote for me. But then I’d secretly vote for Audrey and Dan. They share heartwarming stories and take stunning photos. Their blog is all about cultural travel and sustainability. They’re just fantastic storytellers.
Then we have Alex in Wanderland. I met Alex years ago in New York City, and we’ve been friends ever since. She’s a photographer, graphic designer, travel lover, and dive specialist. Her blog is filled with great photos, dive tips, travel stories, and a healthy dose of self-deprecating humor.
The Blonde Abroad is another great one. Kiersten’s blog is all about the intersection of fashion and travel. She offers tips and advice for women on what to wear, pack, and see while traveling. Her blog is more focused on luxury, comfort travel. Even though it’s not targeted at me, I find a lot of useful information on her blog.
Hey Nadine is a popular YouTube channel run by Nadine Sykora. Her videos are entertaining and give you a real sense of what it’s like to be in the places she visits. She’s funny, smart, and a bit awkward, but in a good way.
View from the Wing is run by Gary Leff, the original guru of points and miles. I follow Gary because he provides industry analysis and behind-the-scenes info on loyalty programs and airlines.
Wandering Earl is a blog by my kindred spirit, Earl. Like me, he’s a nomad backpacker. He goes to places few people ever visit and shares raw, honest travel stories. He’s one of the few bloggers I know who doesn’t accept sponsored content or trips.
Oneika the Traveller is one of my favorites. She talks about the "real" side of travel and isn’t afraid to get political or talk about racial prejudice. Her tips and tricks are super useful, and her writing and photos are top-notch.
Never Ending Footsteps is run by Lauren, the most accident-prone traveler I know. But all her misadventures make for some amazing travel stories. Her blog is filled with funny tales and practical travel tips.
Be My Travel Muse is run by Kristin, an adventurous solo female traveler. She’s not afraid to get off the beaten path and shares her tips and tricks along the way. She takes incredible photos and makes amazing YouTube videos.
HoneyTrek is run by Mike and Anne, who quit their jobs in 2012 to go on an extended honeymoon. They’re an adventurous couple with a focus on the outdoors and sustainability.
Chubby Diaries is run by Jeff Jenkins and focuses on plus-size travel. His blog tackles body shaming head-on and provides travelers of all shapes and sizes with resources and inspiration.
Travels of Adam is one of the best LGBTQ blogs out there. Adam focuses on gay travel and lifestyle content, with a specific focus on hipster city guides.
Hey Ciara is run by Ciara, a full-time solo female traveler who shares honest, insightful travel reflections and advice.
So there you have it! These are some of my favorite travel blogs on the web. This list is always changing, so I’ll be updating it as time goes on. Go read these blogs, laugh, learn, and be inspired!
