Unveiling Eurabia: The Fifth Chapter through the Prism of Park Hyatt Paris Vendome

In the world of travel rewards, there are some hotels that are so luxurious and expensive, they’re often referred to as "aspirational" properties. These are places where a night’s stay can cost over $1000, but can be booked with points, making them accessible even to the average traveler. Some of the most famous include the Conrad Koh Samui, the Park Hyatt Sydney, the Conrad Maldives on Rangali Island, and the Park Hyatt Paris Vendome.

Now, let’s talk about my experience at the Park Hyatt Paris Vendome. I didn’t pay for my stay out of pocket, so keep that in mind as you read my review. The people in front of me at check-in were paying about 800 euros per night. I’m doing well in my job, but not well enough to spend a grand per night on a hotel, especially when there are Airbnb options for $150 per night just a few blocks away.

I arrived at the Park Hyatt after taking a Roissybus from Charles de Gaulle airport to the Paris Opera bus stop, which is conveniently located near the hotel. Despite the easy location, I got lost and wandered around the Opera district until I found the hotel. As I approached, I noticed teenagers with their cell phones huddled on either side of the entrance, apparently because Kim Kardashian’s wedding festivities were happening nearby. I tried to trick them by acting like a celebrity, but they weren’t fooled.

Walking into the lobby of a $1000/night hotel, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I was greeted warmly by several staff members. A concierge asked how he could help and walked me to the check-in desk when I asked where to go. The check-in process was smooth, and I was soon escorted to my room on the 6th floor.

The hotel had a distinct, classy smell that I noticed again at the Park Hyatt Dubai a few days later. My room, number 633, was a corner room. It was a decent size by European standards, with a large king-sized bed and top-notch bedding. The room also featured a large desk and a nice-sized bathroom with high-quality shower amenities. The view outside was of a beautiful building across the street.

The hotel staff was incredibly well-trained, always greeting me and offering assistance whenever we made eye contact. The service was consistently high-quality throughout my stay. The hotel also had an element of exclusivity, being a large, expensive hotel in Paris. The combination of the great furnishings, excellent service, exclusivity, and unbeatable location made for a fantastic stay, even though I couldn’t afford to pay for it out of pocket.

The breakfast at the hotel was 50 euros, but it was free for me due to my status. The food was rich, perfectly cooked, and made with high-quality ingredients. The buffet was filled with the best of the best, including some of the best brioche I’ve ever had. If I were staying here without status, I would definitely pay for the breakfast.

Overall, my stay at the Park Hyatt Paris Vendome was excellent from start to finish. I used two free nights from a card bonus from the Chase Hyatt Visa for my stay, and I’m glad I did. The hotel lived up to the hype, with the staff making excellence seem ordinary. You can stay at the Park Hyatt Paris Vendome for 30,000 Hyatt points or about $1000 per night. If you have the points, I highly recommend it. If you have the money to pay for a stay here, I have some great business ideas that need investors.
