In 2016, I launched a program to help a diverse group of people plan their dream trips. I guided them through every step of the process, from budgeting to booking, and I’m excited to share their progress.
First up is Jianne, a 27-year-old office worker from Manila. She had a dream of taking a two-week vacation, but her spending habits and financial constraints were holding her back. We worked together to track her expenses and identify areas where she could cut back. It was a tough journey, with some setbacks along the way, but by the end of the program, Jianne was no longer overspending and had started to pay off her debt. She’s still working towards her dream vacation, but she’s made significant strides towards financial freedom.
Next is Diane, a 59-year-old Canadian who’s always dreamed of visiting Australia and New Zealand. Despite being on a fixed income, Diane managed to save over $500 CAD a month by cutting back on unnecessary expenses. She also started using rewards cards to earn free flights. Now, she’s finally making her dream trip a reality and will be visiting Australia, New Zealand, and the Cook Islands for six weeks.
Then we have Sander and Jolien, a couple from the Netherlands. They were already financially stable, but I helped them track their expenses more effectively and prepare for their trip to Brazil. They even moved back in with their parents to save on rent. By the time they leave for Brazil, they’ll have saved close to 30,000 EUR!
Finally, there’s the Brandon family from Indiana. They’re planning a year-long round-the-world trip. We worked together to track their expenses and found ways to cut back, particularly on food costs. They’ve managed to double their savings to close to $25,000 USD and have also earned travel points to cover some of their travel costs.
